Poker

Poker is a game of chance and skill with an element of luck. Often, the game is more skillful if the player uses betting and psychology to enhance their hand. While this primer can give you a basic idea of the rules, you can read more about the game by buying a book or playing with a group of friends.

Poker is played with several players seated around an oval or circular table. The dealer is responsible for dealing out cards and shuffling the deck. Normally, one player is designated to be the initial dealer, and each player receives one card from the shuffled deck. Usually, the player with the highest card wins the role of dealer, but ties are broken by dealing out the cards again.
